This week started a new college term for me with one of the toughest set of classes I have yet to encounter. Looking at my remaining schedule after these two courses tells me that all should be smooth sailing if I can just survive the next six weeks. I am in an accelerated online program so we churn through the material…this is a good and a bad thing. Six weeks goes quickly so the fact that these are hard and not so fun classes means six short weeks is welcomed. On the other hand because they are hard and not so fun classes…this is gonna be a hard six weeks! Do you see my conundrum?

And here is where the plot thickens…I can do one of two things:  1)  Rejoice that it is a short six weeks or 2) Fret over how hard it is going to be. One thing I have learned over the years is worrying gets me nowhere I want to go. Besides, God tells us in His word over and over not to worry, so why bother with this fruitless exercise?

And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

Therefore instead of worrying, I am choosing to focus on the little things that make my life sweet. I am betting some of these things might make your sweet list too!

  1. My husband!
  2. My furbabies:  Keegan, Madden, Keyna and Phantom
  3. My water view out my back door at home
  4. Talks with my momma
  5. Listening to Moody Radio
  6. Dark chocolate Hershey kisses
  7.  Reading my Bible and/or Christian non-fiction
  8. Watching Charmed
  9. Catching up with friends/family on Facebook
  10. Reading (or re-reading) Mary Higgins Clark novels

This is not an exhaustive list, however, these are definitely my top favs! When I focus on friends, family, God and just relaxing with good things, then I am better equipped to handle the hard things. What makes your life sweet?
